The 27th elementary school in the Clear Creek Independent School District will be named Florence Campbell Elementary School.
Florence McMahan Campbell, a longtime educator, is the mother of developer Travis Campbell whose family donated the land where the district will build the campus.
The new school, which will cost about $43 million from the $487 million bond, will be located on League City Parkway and will accommodate a capacity of 1,000 students.
It is being built to relieve overcrowding in the western part of League City, district officials said.
The campus is scheduled to open in the fall of 2019.
